FLAMMABLE
AND COMBUSTIBLE LIQUID
UNDERGROUND AND ABOVEGROUND FUEL TANK INSTALLATIONS,
REMOVALS, UPGRADES, REPAIRS OR TESTING
Permits:
A
permit is required to install, upgrade, repair or remove a flammable/combustible
liquid fuel tank system.
To
Obtain A Permit:
A
registered contractor must submit a site plan (showing the tank location in
relation to building and property lines) and a copy of the construction
notification that was submitted to TNRCC (Texas Natural Resources Conservation
Commission the state agency that regulates USTs and ASTs).
Aboveground
tanks that are used to store fuel for dispensing into motor vehicles must be
protected tanks and must be listed and labeled to indicate that they have been
tested by a recognized testing laboratory to meet the requirements (U.L. 2085).
A
separate permit for the slab for an aboveground tank is required from the
Development Department (Building Department).
All
flammable/combustible liquid contractors must be registered with the Fort Worth
Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau.
When
requesting an inspection, 48 hours notice is required.
